Easter Buckets

In 1980, I made buckets for my own children, nieces and nephews. When they were taken on Easter
egg hunts, I was asked to take orders! I have been making them for the young ones ever since.

Your child will look forward to using this indestructible Easter bucket for years (the earliest have
been used since 1980 without a scratch).  They are roomy enough (14.5” X 8.5”) for lots of toys
and goodies.

First, the buckets are coated with bonder-sealer, then a marble-emulsion paste is applied to create
a raised pattern of flowers, bunnies, and of course—his or her name.  The buckets get three coats of
white spray paint, and then the fun part—a pattern of bunnies, chickens, eggs, butterflies and grass
is hand-painted.  The overall spring-like pattern is the same for boys and girls; I lean more heavily
toward blues and yellows for boys, pink for girls. The bucket then gets two coats of high-quality
varnish and details are defined with permanent ink.

The buckets can also have the pattern with no name (or simply “Happy Easter”). Another choice
is the "family" bucket with "The Johnsons," etc. on front and the appropriate number of bunnies
with names on the tails on the back.
